Hand Passing
beginner

Hand pass - Closed fist or palm open

The hand pass is used to deliver the ball to a teammate at close range. The ball is struck with a closed fist for a fast, accurate pass.

How to do it

Make a flat hand or a soft fist, hold the ball in your other hand, then punch the ball to your friend! Keep your fist firm and aim where you want the ball to go. It's like a super fast punch-pass!

For Parents & Coaches

01

Firm Fist

Make a tight fist — a loose hand means a weak, inaccurate pass.

02

Hold & Strike

Hold the ball in one hand and strike cleanly with the closed fist of the other.

03

Step Into It

Step towards your target as you pass for more power and accuracy.

04

Follow Through

Point your fist toward your target after the strike for direction.
